VILA DO PORTO

Portuguese
cargo ship, launched into water in 1949. She was owned by Carregadores Açorianos Navigation Company and displaced 2.592 tons.
This ship sunk during a severe sea storm near Leixão Grande
rock on 20th of May 1955.
The sea ended up with the ship, broken her apart and nowadays
divers can find on the sea floor the ship's boiler and metal debris.
Due to her location, diving this wreck is only possible when
sea is flat, under the risk of divers been throwned to the rocks and pier by
waves.
She rests at 12m and, as all wrecks, has her share of marine
life.
Minimum diving certification
required to dive this wreck:
CMAS one star or equivalent.
